jupiter

So I first adopted Jupe when I was living in Tucson, AZ working at Raytheon Missile Systems. I adopted her in August of 2015 when she was about 4 months and she has been a great companion since. I named her after the planet Jupiter, not due to the Roman mythology, but because Jupiter acts as a major protector of our planet and because I am fascinated by the planet. Ironically, Jupiter was also the first planet I, by dumb luck, spotted in my telescope (along with 5 of its moons). Jupe is a mixture of German shepherd, chow chow, chihuahua, poodle, terrier, and Rottweiler, aka a mutt. Jupe is full of energy, loving, friendly, and protective.

io

Io is a recent addition to my little family. Named after one of Jupiter’s moons, he was just adopted this year (2020) amongst the chaos of the pandemic, rescued from a shelter in Indiana. His backstory is one of the tragic ones where he and his brother were found as strays somewhere in southern USA, infested with parasites and starving. He was rescued by some good people who restored back to good health and I was lucky enough to find this boy so I could add him to my family. He is a Catahoula Leopard mix and is (at the time of writing this) 5 months old. He is super cuddly, super friendly, energetic, and always wagging his tail. Watch out, he’ll steal your girl.
